For more than a 130 years, Jacksonport United Methodist Churchhas been more than brick and mortar. It has been a place where we nurture faith, practice hospitality, form relationships, and where God’s love becomes visible through worship and service. Here children are baptized, couples married, loved ones remembered, friendships strengthened, and countless prayers offered.

Because of the faithfulness and generosity of those who came before us, we have inherited this beautiful sanctuary. Now it is our turn to care for this special place so that future generations will also know its welcome, its peace, and its witness to God’s enduring love.

A recent door replacement revealed multiple deteriorating floor joists. Because of a very narrow crawl space, further inspection and replacement of major structural elements is impossible. A proposed preservation project will stabilize the church by constructing a permanent foundation beneath the building, repairing structural supports, improving drainage, re-landscaping, and making the entrance safer and more accessible. The total project cost is approximately $200,000.

This campaign offers each of us a meaningful opportunity to give back to God and to our church family some of the many blessings that we have received. Any gift——large or small——will help preserve this sacred place.
